Wind your way through the country to Jerseyville. Dating back to 1834, a leisurely walk along the historic Courthouse Square offers many unique Gothic & Victorian style buildings and residences. Erected in 1893, the Courthouse on Pearl Street sits at the center of town with its 124-foot dome towering above the community. The Jersey County Historical Society has worked hard to preserve the history of this rural community. Historical tours are available at the 1866 Fulkerson Mansion and Farm Museum, Cheney Mansion Museum and Lone Star Schoolhouse.

Spend the day taking in the scenery and strolling along the thriving downtown merchant district with a variety of stores, antiques and dining. Stroll through the town by day and arrange to spend the night at the Homeridge Bed & Breakfast, a Civil War era mansion adorned with antique furnishings. Plan your visit around some of the great annual events. Hit the streets in June for the State Street Blues Festival. A summer tradition for more than a century, be a part of a little "Home Spun Fun 'til the Cows Come Home" every July at the week long Jersey County Fair. In August, the Tri-County Antique Club invites the public under the windmill to see how farming was done in the past at the Olden Days Festival. Then, mark your calendar for Labor Day weekend each year and take part in the annual Jersey County Victorian Festival at the Col. Fulkerson Mansion with a Civil War re-enactment.
