Getting to the Alton Region by...

BY CAR
All roads lead to the Alton region and the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway. At the hub of the region is Alton, Illinois is just 25 miles north of St. Louis on the banks of the Mississippi River. By car, you can easily reach us via I-55, I-70, I-270, I-44, Hwy 40 and I-255.

FREE CHARGE!
For all of our environmentally friendly visitors driving electric cars, you can get a free charge at the Alton City Hall, located at 101 E. Third St. in Downtown Alton.  The charging station is located in the City Hall parking lot in a designated parking spot.  The charge is free and is first come first serve.  All you need to do is pull up to the charger, plug-in and juice up.  For a full battery charge, you'll need to allow up to six hours.  While you charge, take the steps from City Hall down to Broadway St. in Alton to browse the shops, grab a bite to eat or cross the pedestrian overpass into Riverfront Park to enjoy the Mississippi River views.

Alton is conveniently located 20 miles from St. Louis Lambert International Airport and minutes from the St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto.

BY TRAIN
